Exploratory fieldtrip

September 11, 2020, 7 am. Dianna Price, Thomas Adams and I leave San Antonio. The goal is to visit the three track sites we plan to digitize for our NSF-funded RAPID project (Leander, Blanco and Canyon Lake), to evaluate how much time we need to spend to clean and digitize dinosaur trackways, and to measure, describe and sample a representative lithological column for each location.

Some sites are better preserved than others, but they all need to be saved in a digital format so they can be used for future research and exhibits at the Witte Museum in San Antonio, TX. We are planning to spend a minimum of 2 days at each track sites starting in late September - early October, after the hot season and before heavy rains that usually characterize Fall in central Texas. More field pictures soon, stay tuned!
